Home Inspections

What they are and what to expect

A home inspection provides you with an opportunity to learn about the condition of the numerous systems that make up a home. If you're not familiar with a particular system or item you'll have the opportunity to learn about it so you can properly use and maintain it. This is why we strongly encourage you to attend the inspection. This will give you a chance to ask questions and become familiar with the systems of the home.

The inspection process typically takes 2 to 3 hours for a house, 1 to 2 for a condo. A report will be created based on the findings during the inspection that is emailed to you and any other parties that you specify.

A home inspection for a house includes an inspection of the following visible and accessible systems and components:

  1. Structure
  2. Roof
  3. Exterior
  4. Interior rooms
  5. Doors & windows
  6. Electrical system
  7. Plumbing system
  8. Heating
  9. Central A/C
  10. Kitchen
  11. Bathrooms
  12. Attic
  13. Basement
  14. Crawlspace
  15. Deck

Condo inspections typically exclude common areas and common elements because they are maintained by the condo association and access to these areas is sometimes not available.
